Tea Types

There are more than two thousand different types of tea, which all come from the same plant, the Camellia Sinensis. The different tea varieties are made through variations in how the leaves are processed once they have been harvested.

There are essentially four different methods of manufacturing tea that give us the four major categories: black tea, oolong tea, green tea, and white tea.

Fruit or herbal tisanes are commonly referred to as fruit or herbal tea, but these are not true teas as they do not come from the Camellia Sinensis plant.
