Tea in Children's Books IV

Welcome to the fourth installation in this series of tea scenes from children's books.  Last time, Lola, Charlie, a strange and tricky creature, and Marv in Slightly Invisible and Lilly in Julius, the Baby of the World enjoyed tea.  And we saw a tea scholar and a tea merchant in Stone Soup, retold and illustrated by Jon J Muth.

Sophie serves tea to a hungry tiger in The Tiger Who Came to Tea, by Judith Kerr.

The cat who lives with the old wizard in Get Well, Good Knight, by Shelley Moore Thomas with pictures by Jennifer Plecas.

Tea Rex enjoys tea in Tea Rex, by Molly Idle.  We have not read this book as yet but the combination of dinosaurs and tea is brilliant!

If your favorite children's book has a tea scene and is not listed here or in Tea in Children's Books III, Tea in Children's Books II or Tea in Children's Books I, please let me know in a comment.  You can also tweet the title with the #teainbooks tag.

  1. My daughter and I have been reading 'Mr. Putter and Tabby Pour the Tea' by Cynthia Rylant. I don't have the book with me so I can't post a page, but here is a link to the book itself

  2. Many thanks, Sara. I'll look for it at our branch library.
